High Energy Boosting Smoothie Superfood Ingredients

Every single ingredient in the testosterone smoothie recipe is a superfood and serves an energy-boosting purpose. There isn’t one single “wasted” or “empty” calorie added.

In addition, because each plant-based ingredient is easy to digest and easy to absorb, your body won’t be expending extra energy to break down and digest your food. By eliminating the excess workload of digestion, you will reap more energy by drinking this smoothie. Compared to a smoothie that is loaded with difficult-to-digest animal foods, such as dairy or refined and denatured protein powders.

Whole Fruits – Cranberries, Wild Blueberries and Bananas

The energy boosting smoothie is even more energizing than eating starchy carbohydrates. The carbohydrate source in this energy and testosterone boosting recipe comes from whole fruits and vegetables, which are incredibly easy for your body to burn. Anything that is easy for your body to burn means more “leftover” energy for you!

#1: Choose Frozen Cranberries – We Choose Cape Cod Select

Cranberries from Cape Cod Select only have 1 ingredient: fresh, local cranberries. are packed with an astonishing array of phytonutrients, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. It’s also the perfect way to fill in much-needed nutrient gaps during any hectic season.

#2: Wild Blueberries – We Always Buy From Wyman’s

Wild Blueberries are small but mighty and have a very high total antioxidant capacity (ORAC). In fact, wild blueberries are higher than almost all of the typical fruits and vegetables you see at the grocery store. Look for Wyman’s Wild Blueberries in the frozen section.

#3: Organic Bananas – Fresh, Unadultered and Delicious

If you’ve not made the switch to organic bananas, I want to encourage you to do it. Not only are they healthier but the taste is incredible too. If you are hesitant about if bananas are good for you or not. They are! But, so are carrots, potatoes (with their skin), beets and all other “whole” carbohydrates that are eaten in their natural and unrefined form.

Spotlight on Maca Powder – Testosterone Booster Food

MACA POWDER: Just 1 teaspoon a day. Our Testosterone Booting Smoothie recipe has 2 teaspoons for 2 serving. This is a good brand of Organic Maca Powder.

Often referred to as a natural source of testosterone, organic maca powder is a superfood that can benefit both men and women. While we often associate testosterone with men, women have testosterone too. Testosterone is a hormone that plays a critical role in maintaining energy, building metabolically active muscle mass and maintaining bone density.

Whether you are male or female, if you are low on testosterone you will experience decreased energy and persistent fatigue along with a reduced sex drive and decreased sense of well-being. Maca powder can help balance hormones in both men and women and it is an important ingredient in the energy smoothie recipe.

Maca Powder Also Nourishes the Adrenals – A Superfood

Well known for its invigorating and energizing properties, maca powder is also incredibly nourishing to the adrenal glands. A root vegetable related to the turnip, maca powder is marketed as a dietary supplement, but it is really a superfood. By supporting the adrenal glands, maca combats the energy-draining effects of modern day life and helps provide a steady and non-jittery form of energy. Navitas Naturals Maca Powder is a super high-quality powder based superfood.

It is important to note that although the energy testosterone smoothie recipe will absolutely boost energy in the short term, if you want to really see results (especially from the maca), you will want to drink it daily for about 4 to 6 weeks.

6 Top Testosterone Boosting Foods:

Since a lot of people that land on this energy boosting testosterone smoothie recipe are looking for testosterone support – I figured it would be helpful to add our 6 top go to Testosterone Boosting Foods. You’ll note that there is only ONE animal product on our list. Which means, we want to really encourage you to find plant-based testosterone boosting foods as much as possible. They are out there and will be a food that gives energy and stamina naturally and unadultered.

#1: Maca Powder – Plant-Based Superfood

MACA POWDER: Just 1 teaspoon a day. Our Testosterone Booting Smoothie recipe has 2 teaspoons for 2 serving. This is a good brand of Organic Maca Powder.

Maca Powder is particularly beneficial for balancing hormonal issues including testosterone and is an excellent testosterone boosting food. Especially those related to stress. By the way, the hormonal benefits derived from Maca are due to the fact it is rich in plant sterols.

#2: Organic Grass Fed, Grass Finished Lean Meats – High in Protein, Iron, Magnesium and Zinc

GRASS FED AND GRASS FINISHED LEAN MEATS – Try ButcherBox for 100% grass-fed beef, free-range organic chicken, humanely raised pork, and wild-caught seafood directly to your door. The incredible quality of ButcherBox meat starts with their commitment to raising animals humanely, as nature intended.

Lean meat, both beef and chicken have a huge impact on testosterone and are adequate testosterone boosting foods. Grass Fed and Grass Finished Organic Beef has the added benefit of high protein and zinc. These are two nutrients key for optimizing testosterone and muscle-building potential.

#3: Beans, Beans and More Beans – Excellent Source of Protein, Fiber and Zinc

BEAN TIP: If you’re eating a lot of beans, buy organic BPA-free cans such as these Kidney Beans, Navy Beans or homemade baked beans.

In general, beans are a testosterone boost food and pack a bigger shot of zinc than any other member of the vegetable family. Some recipes, like these homemade baked beans can even rival the zinc content of red meat. Beans are also starch resistant, high in protein and fiber but low in fat. All winning combinations.

#4 : Pastured Eggs – We Trust Vital Farms

PASTURED EGGS: Look for pastured eggs. You can buy pastured eggs from a local farmer or look for VitalFarms pastured eggs at your natural foods store. I also have found them at our local Target. It’s worth asking if your grocer doesn’t stock them!

Pastured eggs are a pure, unadulterated source of healthy cholesterol. And healthy cholesterol is important to convert the nutrients into a testosterone boosting food. Be sure to stock up on whole eggs, unless otherwise instructed by your physician. We like to make a dozen hard boiled eggs each week using the steam method for easy peeling. Making it quick to add an egg for a to-go breakfast or lunch or a healthy Egg Salad recipe for sandwiches or eat out of a bowl!

#5: Testosterone Boosting Dates!

ORGANIC DATES: We use dates in a lot of our recipes and it doubles as a testosterone boosting food. Look for Organic Medjool Dates – we love the Joolies brand harvested in California.

Eat a handful of dates or add to recipes as a natural sweetener – also included in this energy boosting testosterone smoothie recipe. Dates are not only a testosterone boosting food, but they are beneficial for increasing sexual stamina in the human body. A

If your dates are a little harder, just soak them in hot water for about 15-20 minutes before adding to a blender. One of the quickest recipes to load up on dates is this Homemade Fudge recipe loaded with dates, coconut butter and cacao powder.

#6: Add Garlic to Everything… Well, Except Dessert!

We use a lot of garlic in our food here at Clean Cuisine. The overwhelming benefit is from the hydrogen sulfide.

Garlic consumption is so important for overall heart health and enhancing testosterone levels too. Something that America should definitely get on board with. In Italy and Korea they consumed a garlic-rich diet by consuming 8-12 cloves per day. However, research shows about 10 grams of garlic a day (about 3 or 4 cloves) will give you significant health benefits.

Where to Buy Maca and Other Superfood Ingredients Used in the Energy Boosting Smoothie Recipe

Most of the ingredients in the energy boosting smoothie recipe can be found at your local grocery store. Such as the frozen cauliflower, wild blueberries, frozen cranberries all found in the freezer aisles. Look for organic banana and golden flaxseeds.

However, the maca powder, camu camu powder and hemp hearts are often only at natural foods stores or places like Whole Foods Market. You can also easily purchase them online at one of my favorite online discount healthy living shopping destinations, VitaCost.

I just read that maca powder is not good for people on blood thinners or high blood pressure due to it decreasing the effects and increasing blood pressure respectively. It should also not be given to children. Is this true and is there a substitute that you would recommend for the energy smoothie?

Thanks.
