Happy Halloween! I have the perfect recipe that takes just 15 minutes of hands-on-time to make. It’s sneaks in super nutritious butternut squash puree (canned pumpkin would also work, by the way) plus it is dairy-free, contains no refined sugar and has an added omega-3 flaxseed boost to boot.

The Gingerbread Spice Cake recipe is made with the new ultra-healthy Biodynamic Flour I recently discovered (you can read more about what this is HERE), but it can also be made with regular whole wheat flour, white whole wheat flour or gluten-free all-purpose flour (such as Bob’s Red Mill) too.

Mmmmm….this is one of my favorite fall chili recipes.  Making the chili in a slow cooker allows for the flavors of all of the ingredients to intensify without adding lots of meat. By the way, you can make the black bean chili with our without the ground pastured beef—it tastes great either way. Whether you use the meat or not, the end result is a rich, savory and satisfying chili bursting with phytonutrients and antioxidants from the unique blend of highly nutrient-dense seasonal ingredients.
